You can use any spices to taste.
For a side dish, you can cook stewed cabbage, potatoes or rice.
From the specified amount of ingredients, 4-6 servings are obtained.
Ingredients
- 1.5-2 kg pork shank
- 2 l dark beer (light beer can be used)
- 150 g carrots
- 150 g celery root
- 150 g onions
- 5-7 cloves of garlic
- 10 black peppercorns
- 5 allspice peas
- ½ tsp cumin
- 3 bay leaves
- 3 cloves
- 2 tbsp salt
sauce:
- 2 tbsp mustard (paste)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 100 ml of beer broth (in which the knuckle was brewed)
Preparation
Coarsely chop the onion and garlic.
Coarsely chop the carrots.
Coarsely chop the celery.
Pour the shank with beer, bring to a boil.
Add onion, garlic, carrot, celery.
Add black and allspice, cumin, bay leaves, cloves, salt.
To cover with a lid.
Cook over low heat for 2 hours.
I boiled the knuckle for an hour, then turned it over and cooked for another hour.
Get the knuckle out, cool a little.
Cooking the sauce.
Strain 100 ml of broth in which the shank was cooked.
Add honey, stir.
Add mustard, stir.
Put the shank in a baking dish.
Drizzle 2-3 tbsp. sauce.
Put in the oven.
Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes, pouring sauce every 5 minutes.
